Meet the barbers

Skylar joined The Combover in 2018 after completing barber college and has since significantly shaped its identity. A highly skilled barber, Skylar expertly executes a wide range of styles, from flattops to textured longer cuts. Clients appreciate his use of a vacuum system, ensuring a clean and comfortable experience. He maintains a traditional barbering schedule, working Tuesday through Saturday at the Angola location. Beyond his professional life, Skylar dedicates his time to his wife and children.

Andy joined The Combover team in January 2025, bringing with him over two decades of barbering experience. He divides his time between the Angola and Ashley locations. While skilled in a variety of styles, Andy particularly excels in traditional men's cuts and flattops. He continuously refines his skills, even in techniques outside his preferred classic styles, such as the burst fade. Before his career as a barber, Andy is a Purdue University alumnus and owned a trucking company that specialized in hauling fuel and heavy equipment. Outside of the shop, Andy is an avid motorcyclist and enjoys camping.

Jon joined The Combover in October 2021. A licensed barber since 2008, Jon values building authentic relationships with his clients. His passion for barbering extends beyond a job; he strives to understand each client's individual needs and preferences. While Jon is known for his exceptional high and tight haircuts, he is proficient in a wide range of styles. In the event a client's request falls outside his expertise, he will communicate honestly and directly. Jon enjoys assisting clients in exploring new styles and is committed to helping them look their best. Outside of work, Jon enjoys gaming, property maintenance, and relaxing by a campfire. He is available at the Angola location Wednesday through Saturday.

Jackson joined The Combover in August 2025 upon his graduation from barber college. As the shop's newest talent, he particularly caters to younger clients. His recent training makes him adept at contemporary styles like blowout tapers, burst fades, drop fades, and textured fringe cuts. Jackson serves clients at both the Angola and Ashley locations and is available for appointments on Tuesdays at the Ashley location. Outside of his barbering, Jackson is passionate about sports, especially basketball, enjoying playing, coaching, watching, and discussing the game. He also enjoys spending time at the lake during the summer.

Josh, a barber school graduate, launched the shop on October 31, 2017. While proficient in various haircuts, his preferred style is a combover with a shadow fade. Beard grooming is a particular area of expertise; he excels in shaping, fading, and outlining beards to create a refined appearance. Josh is available at the Angola location on Mondays and will soon be working one day at the Ashley shop, in addition to covering shifts as needed. Beyond his barbering skills, Josh manages schedules, maintenance, advertising, and customer relations. Outside of the shop, he dedicates his time to hunting, fishing, and coaching middle school basketball.
